As a child, getting ice cream was the highlight to my day. I’d go to the ice cream shop to get my favorite scoop of chocolate or cherry, and what really elevated the experience was the hard, crunchy ice cream shell on top. As an adult I learned the shells were made with toxic food dyes, unhealthy oils, and excess sugar. Whether in the ice cream shops or the supermarket, the ingredients are the same as when I grew up.
